Before heading off on a lengthy road trip, know where to stop to have your vehicle serviced. When traveling by car, you may have long periods when there are few options for vehicle service. Plan your route around repair places that can fix your car if need be. Make sure all important service stations numbers are kept handy.
Remember to bring an extra passport picture with you when traveling. It can take quite awhile to replace a passport if it is lost. If you have a spare photo, this is one step than can speed up the process. You should also have copies of any other documentation you might need.
If you tend to wake up at the slightest sound, earplugs are something you should consider. Most hotel walls are not sound proof. Good earplugs can help block any excess noise.
